The current Solar Powered Ozone Water Treatment System program, or SPOWTS™ for short, uses small solar photovoltaic (solar PV) systems to provide completely pathogen free clean drinking water for villagers in remote Nepal earthquake affected areas. The use of SPOWTS™ assures a free energy source for the purification, while ozone purification assures a "zero-pathogen" water supply which is critical especially in monsoon months when water borne diseases can claim lives.
We are currently targeting SPOWTS™ for an initial test site in the Hemambu (Yolmo) area of Nepal after which time additional systems will be deployed in earthquake affected areas.
